If you read my Twenty MINEteen post, you already know I had some pretty significant plans for this year. I decided on the word “transition” to describe what I envisioned 2019 being for me. It seemed like as soon as I declared my 2019 mood, a flood of developments came that I don’t quite think I’ve fully comprehended yet.
Things really began to pick up around here — and I couldn’t be happier. Between my platform, my career, and everything in between...2019 is off to a great start. However, there’s always room for improvement. Let’s get into mine —
I’m still not as consistent as I want to be. I know it won’t happen overnight but I’ve at least been more intentional with my plans. This has included making a proper to-do list...and it’s on paper! I also set up a blog/social media schedule that reminds me to stay on top of the content you’ve all come to love.
This is one of my favorite ones. I’ve taken some pretty significant steps to get myself in order. I won’t dive too deeply into it here, but just know things for really real for a moment — but it’s all good now! My favorite part of my self-care progress is that I’ve been doing better about choosing my battles. The downside to that is the battles I’ve engaged in typically score a 8-9 out of 10, as opposed to the 3-4 out of 10. I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve had so much pent up energy but like I said — I’m working on it.
Now that my husband is back home from his duty station and living his best retired life, we are able to get back to reintegrating our household. It’s been a pretty steep learning curve because things have been really different for the 22 months we were living apart. I think the biggest change for me is learning how to relax. I’ve had to run the show for a long time. So, I find myself at a crossroad quite often — feeling lazy and hands-off versus being super overbearing and having difficulty “letting go”. I haven't found my in-between yet but again, I'm working on it.
Overall, 2019 has been pretty successful so far. Of course there’s room for improvement but that’s to be expected! I committed to making these changes in my life because I knew they were necessary to transition into greatness. I began this year with intentional goals because I got tired of "lucking up" on achievement. I wanted to make sure that my goals were more clearly thought out so I could make some more solid steps toward making them happen.
How are your goals for this year going so far? I’d love to know!
